Prices for cupping vary a lot between countries, cities and practitioners. Rather than quote figures that go out of date, here is what tends to change the price, and what to ask.
What affects the price
- Location. Costs in a city centre clinic differ from a home or mobile service.
- Practitioner training and insurance. A properly trained, insured practitioner has costs a casual one does not.
- Type of cupping. Wet cupping needs sterile single-use equipment, which adds to the cost.
- Session length. A short follow-up costs less than a first appointment with a full consultation.
Questions to ask before you book
- What training do you have, and are you insured?
- What is the full price, and is anything extra?
- What will happen in the session, and what hygiene steps do you follow?
- What aftercare will you give me?
Warning signs
Be careful if someone promises to cure an illness, pushes you to pay for a large package upfront, skips a conversation about your health, or cannot explain how they keep things clean.
